50 cent many men bass11/19/2022 ![]() By the end of the year fifty still beat her for best selling album of 2003 by many millions. By week two, 50s sales were still in the 800k region and hers were 600k. Shania Twain (again, huge establishes artist, but not her debut) edged 50 out of number 1 first week sales by 2k with 874k. (The album with crazy in love btw, that was everywhere). Fifty sold 872k first week or something and by the end of the year sold 12-13million for 2003 making it the best selling album of that year.Īnd to answer in relation to the other commenter, Slim Shady LP only sold 4 million in one year in comparison.įactor in HH getting more popular and the numbers might be closer but it doesn’t diminish the fact that 50 basically forced labels and the world to take notice of him and had the best selling album of 2003 and up until that point the best selling debut rap album.Įdit: I’ll also point out the other guy is being sarcastic to fuck with you for saying you don’t believe it and that 9 million isn’t chump figures.Įdit 2: nas first week debut sales, 472k the chronic harder to find first week sales for but it’s still not sold as many TOTAL up until now as 50 sold his first year with GRoDT (5.7mill USA compared to 9 million USA for 50) 36 chambers 55k first weekĮdit 3: just to put in perspective, Beyoncé that year only sold 327k first week and she was an established artist from one of the biggest groups in the world at that point. I’ll add a caveat: best selling debut first week in hip hop, only Snoops debut came close. You know that it’s not the same guy you’re talking to? In general, he's kinda both but which would you personally call it: more overrated or underrated? also he won top 3 rap beef and if i recall correctly was first to start touring in middle east(?). idk just stumbled upon the album on yt and only now did i realize how great it actually is. grodt is one of the most unique albums ever to me, although i don't like 99% of rap after 90s, i think this album is one of the few albums that can objectively be put in top 15 cause of its perfect production, and number of bangers, overall quality, quality of its highs and simply just how big it was. moreover i've never seen it in anyone's goat/favourite albums list (i don't count people who don't know anything other than 50, em and snoop). i'm totally ok with someone not putting him in his top 15 for even 20 cause of reasons i've stated above but i've seen so few hiphop fans praising grodt as much as it truly deserves. Of course he is more famous than other rappers like vinnie paz and big pun who are way better in technical aspect and he hasn't necessarily amazing pure rapping abilities but he's still underrated in some way. ![]() ![]() Ok i'll start with saying i'm not fan in any way.
